St. Ann Catholic School Renovation

Project name: St. Ann Catholic School Renovation

Client: Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte

Scope: The renovation of the 36,272 sq ft St. Ann Catholic School focused on transforming a dated facility into a modern, efficient, and welcoming environment that better supports teaching, learning, and daily operations.

The Diocese’s priorities were clear: upgrade building systems, refresh interior spaces, improve accessibility, and deliver it all within the 10-week summer break. Teachers asked for more functional storage, durable finishes, and brighter, healthier classrooms and corridors that would enrich the daily experience for both students and staff.

Our team responded with a comprehensive renovation. Over eleven months of planning ensured construction could be completed in just ten weeks, requiring more than 26,000 hours of work and up to 85 workers on-site in a single day. The project replaced all major systems, including HVAC, electrical, lighting, and plumbing, while fully modernizing restrooms, classrooms, and corridors with new finishes, casework, and storage. Life safety and egress were updated to meet current codes, and accessibility upgrades brought the school into full ADA compliance.

Teachers and staff have expressed that they “love the school now,” highlighting the additional storage and functionality gained through new casework and furniture. They described the environment as fresh and modern, an impression echoed by students, who now view their school as a more contemporary and welcoming place. By aligning the Diocese’s vision with the daily needs of staff and students, the project exceeded expectations, creating a school environment that fosters pride, comfort, and learning.
